Lyall Harbor, Sept 16th

Gale winds were once again in the forecast so we looked for a nice protected spot to shelter. This led us to Saturna Island. We planned to anchor in Lyall harbor, but on arrival found a spot at the tiny public dock next to the ferry landing. The dock lays right under a cliff that shelters from the South-East (the direction of the forecasted winds). Perfect place to spend the night.

No rain yet, so we went for a walk into town.

The local coffee bar. Unfortunately closed during our stay.

We really liked the vibe on this island. Lots of little farms, very "country", and very laid back.

After watching the ferry come and go, we headed up to the cafe for dinner. Had the place to ourselves for the most part - some locals showed up later as we were leaving. Great fish and chips and beer, with a nice sunset.
