Lowe Inlet, August 15th

Our first stop after leaving Prince Rupert was Lowe Inlet. We had visited here on our last trip and saw lots of bears by the waterfall. We hoped for a repeat performance. 


Found this ancient fish trap built up out of stones around the corner from the waterfall;


Crab pot set - no takers this time;


When we arrived we saw lots of salmon jumping but no bears. Oh well, time for cocktails and appetizers. Had some smoked salmon we got from Petersburg and some delicious roe that Pete prepared from one of the female salmon he caught. It took awhile but the end result was as colorful to look at as it was to eat.



Saw no bears that day however the next morning before breakfast we saw one black bear wandering around. He didn't seem to interested in the salmon by the waterfall but we did get a nice view of him as  he wandered about. A nice way to start the day. Had no luck with the crab pot and only caught a few prawns.
